Until 1948 'Burnside' was the home of John P and David was at 'Ambleside', both on Runcorn Road, Little Leigh, almost opposite, but certainly within a cricket ball throw ... well almost. Although we lived close by and went to school together, it wasn't until many years later that we realised that we were related. John P remembers Alfred Hindley, David's dad, turning up at Auntie Doris's funeral in 1989 at the Baptist Chapel, Shutley. David understood the relationships as soon as he started family history in the 1980s ...
