Educated in science and cricket at The King's School, Chester and as a Chemical Engineer at Glasgow University near the gutters of Sauchiehall Street ... experienced as a Factory Manager with Unilever, where I learned most of my economics under the soap pans in Apapa ... this was before the male menopause nudged me into a second degree in Economics ... and if you're really interested in this strange tale of woe, pelf and evolutionary economics it's here!

Why ... do almost all folk seem to pontificate about economic policy? ... ? Believe it or not but evolutionary analysis of practical economic policy interests me ... !!

I have a Selmer Mark VI soprano saxophone and a Yanagisawa tenor and play with a few mates around Chester ... bags of enthusiasm, lousy sound ... playing for our own meagre fun and the gross amusement of others ...

Why ... do almost all folk seem to love music of one kind or another ? ... ? I enjoy Dixieland Jazz and I've managed to absorb a little music theory and even attempted improvisation ... !!

I admit I'm a curmudgeon - an ill tempered fellow, full of resentment and stubborn notions - but I've worked hard for my notions ... the explanatory pervasiveness of evolution ... who would believe it ... but as the other man said, 'I only mess with all this stuff because I can ...' !!
